BRUCE ANDERSON STRAUB
GOLIAD - Bruce Anderson Straub, 43, of Goliad, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2012. He was born June 10, 1968, in Dallas and was the youngest son of the late A.W. and Eva Jane Straub.

As an adolescent, he enjoyed raising and showing Brahma's. He continued his affinity for cattle and attended Texas A & M University and graduated Class of 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science. He pursued a career as a ranch manager and professional livestock judge where he traveled throughout the United States. In 2004, he began a career in the Oil and Gas Industry as a Seismic Permit Agent and in 2008 he transitioned into the position of a Petroleum Landman where he worked for Robert S. Peveto Jr. Properties Inc. to the date of his death. According to co-workers and friends, he exemplified himself as a selfless, diligent and dedicated individual who left his imprint on the world for all to follow. He also enjoyed life with family and friends and loved to entertain by sharing his culinary skills.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of Goliad; children, Garrett Warren Straub, Brittany Elise Straub, and Avery Wyatt Straub of Rayne, La.; sister, Teri Armfield; brother-in-law, Doug Armfield; nephews, Eric and Austin Armfield, all of Wichita, Kan.; brother, Philip Anthony Straub of Dallas; step-children, Shane Garza and Crystal Lamprecht of Fort Collins, Colo., Jenna Garza of Victoria, and Christopher Garza of Goliad. He is also survived by his in-laws, Gonzalo and Mable Hernandez of Goliad.

Visitation will be held 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at Goliad Funeral Home, Goliad. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Goliad. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Goliad.

Pallbearers: Platt Glasscock, James Braden, Zachary Baldwin, John Griffin, Joe Guerra, and Terry Ferrington. Honorary Pallbearers: Julian Flores, Mark Hernandez, Clifford Boyer Jr., Doug Armfield, Austin Armfield, and Eric Armfield.

Memorial Donations may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
