Dr. Edward B. Dobbins, Jr.
Dr. Edward B. Dobbins, Jr. of San Marcos, TX and Huntsville, AL died Wednesday afternoon at home while in the tender care of friends. In his 82 years he helped to take us to the moon with his work on the Saturn V rocket, helped to keep us safe working with
people around the world on our common defense, and helped to make his communities a little more fair and a little more just with his quiet charity. He also cherished every memory of his 53 year marriage to NASA artist and loving wife Rosemary. The greatest
lesson he taught during his last days was that of gratitude, as he was thankful for every tiny thing anyone did for him. We are sure that his only regret will be in leaving Gibson's BBQ and Hildegard's behind.
He is survived by his daughter, Holly Dobbins of Liverpool, NY, his son-in-law Andrew Hirsch, his grandchildren Shane and Adam Hirsch, his nephews and niece of the Hartnett family of Dallas, his nephew Fred Robbins of Seattle, WA, and his cat Duffy.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. (www.laughlinservice.com)
