William Magee
Dr. William "Bill" Magee
East Lansing
Bill Magee was born in San Antonio, TX on April 22, 1923, the son of Mac and Elsie Magee. He died on November 5, 2014 at the age of 91. Bill earned his BS at Texas A&M and earned his Ph.D. from Iowa State University. While at Iowa State, Bill met Eileen Kester
and they were married on September 5, 1948. He was an officer in the US Army and served in WWII and the Korean War. Bill was a professor at MSU in the Animal Husbandry Department and worked with many graduate students. Bill was an active member in the Presbyterian
Church of Okemos and loved all aspects of Michigan State University.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Magee. Surviving children are Kathy (Jim) Kuk, Melissa (Ed) Speidel, and Tom (Paula) Magee. Bill has eight grandchildren, Leah (Dave) Charney, Justin (Becky) Kuk, Evan Kuk, Mark and Eric Speidel, Heather (Brad)
Hale, Tim Magee and Caden Cazabon; three great-grandchildren, Reese and Brooke Charney and Evelyn Kuk.
Bill's family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the nurturing staff of Burcham Hills Retirement Community and the Great Lakes Caring Hospice staff.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be Monday, November 10, 2014, 12:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church of Okemos, 2258 Bennett Road, Okemos, MI 48864. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Bill to the Presbyterian Church of Okemos.
