Eunice Jean Hargrave Carlton LUBBOCK-Eunice Jean Hargrave Carlton, 65, formerly of Lubbock and Arlington passed away in Round Rock on Oct. 8, 2015, after prolonged health issues. She was born on May 15, 1950, to Levi Marlin (L.M.) and Ruth Hargrave of Lubbock.
A native of West Texas, Jean attended Monterrey High School in Lubbock. She earned a bachelor of science in human sciences from Texas Tech University in 1972 and a master of science in adult education from Texas A&M University in 1977. She excelled in her
academic studies at every level. Jean enjoyed a successful professional career in various fields, including a decade as County Extension Agent for the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, many years in the insurance industry, and 15 years in project administration
and procurement with Texas Tech University and the University of Texas at Arlington. Jean loved art, music, theater, reading, cooking, and watching sports. She was a Master Gardener and had beautiful gardens for every season. Jean was a thoughtful and loving
mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a wonderful wit. She had a friendship with Bill W. over several long periods of her life. She is survived by her son, Neal, his wife, Elizabeth and their daughter, Caroline; and her son, Drew, his wife, Marissa and
their two daughters, Reagan and Ryan. She is also survived by her beloved Dachshund, Tex; and her sister, Patricia Brown. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of St. Philip's United Methodist Church at 16321 Great Oaks
