Texas A&M University President Michael K. Young will present his State of the University address Tuesday, Oct. 4 -- 140 years to the day after the school opened in 1876 as the A&M College of Texas.
Young will speak at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Chemistry Building's Arthur Martell Lecture Hall.
Young is expected to outline his vision for continuing to build on the university’s successes over the past 140 years while focusing on pursuit of excellence in transformational education, innovation and impact.
Arrangements are being made for viewing the speech in an adjacent room, and the program will be viewable at the university’s branch campuses and elsewhere via live streaming, university officials announced.
