Davidson, Arthur Obit PicArthur Ivan “Rusty” Davidson DVM, 80, of Dumas, died Sunday, March 26, 2017.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Dumas with Rev. John Sanders, pastor, officiating.
Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Rusty was born on September 4, 1936 in Middlewell, Texas to Robert and Daisy Davidson. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1954 and earned his doctor of veterinary medicine from Texas A&M University. He practiced veterinary medicine for over 46 years. He
was a member of the Dumas Rotary Club, the Dumas Toastmasters, and the First United Methodist Church. He had served on the Brazos River Authority from 1976 to 1983 and on the Palo Duro River Authority from 1986 to 2016. He was past chairman of the Moore County
Historical Commission.
He married Lena Arnold on September 25, 1960 in Orrick, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Lena Davidson of Dumas; a son, Brent Davidson and wife, Laura of Eagle River, Alaska; a daughter, Brenda Carol of San Luis Obispo, Ca.; four brothers, Cecil Davidson, Joseph Davidson, James Alfred Davidson, Jack Davidson; and two
sisters, Loraine Parry and Ima Jean Taylor.
