Andrew Jerome "Andy" Startz
1939 - 2018
Victoria ~ Andrew (Andy) Jerome Startz, 79, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2018. He was born on February 10, 1939 in Ben Bolt Texas to the late Herman Ferninand Startz and Christina Janca Startz.
Andy was retired from the US Department of Agriculture Farmers Home Administration as county supervisor of Victoria, Refugio and Goliad counties. In retirement he was a certified HUD building inspector until his death. He was also a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a member of the Antique Car Club of Victoria.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Della Beatrice Startz; children, Andy Startz, Jr. (Donna) of Cypress, Karen Richardson (Kevin) of Monroe,WA., Margie (Jim) Bennett of Lewisville and Cynthia Shuster of Annapolis, MD and grandchildren, Matthew Brennan, Joshua Cassatt, Hannah Bennett, Stephanie Bennett, Bethany Startz and Chad Startz. He is also survived by sisters, Irene Skoruppa of Corpus Christi and Virginia Bockholt of College Station.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Eugene, and Richard Startz.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. He loved his family, granddogs and tinkering in his workshop with his antique automobiles. He was a very giving and hardworking man and a proud graduate of the “Fighting Texas Aggie” Class of 1961.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 1:00PM with a Rosary at 2:00PM followed by funeral service at Grace Funeral Home.
Condolences and memories can be shared at www.gracefuneralhome.net. Services are under the direction and personal care of Grace Funeral Home.
