Howdy Ags! The Young Alumni Advisory Council continues its series focusing on your Class Agents. These agents are elected to serve as a liaison between your class and the Association. This week is the Class of 2017, as we count down to the week of Young Alumni Weekend when we'll highlight the Class of 2008 Class Agents as that Class will be celebrating its 10-year Reunion!

  • Claire Wimberly (CW), a business management major based in Dallas: "I am originally from Friendswood, Texas and lived there my whole life prior to attending A&M. I majored in Business Management with a Minor in Economics and graduated in December 2017. I currently live and work in Dallas for an Aggie owned (whoop!) Management Consulting firm called Sendero. I love all things A&M, all things Astros baseball, and exploring different places to eat in my new city!"
  • Dan Rosenfield (DR), a communication major based in Rapid City, South Dakota: "Dan is from Plano, Texas and attended Plano West Senior High School before attending Texas A&M. Dan is currently a public affairs officer for the United States Air Force stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota."

Why did you want to become a Class agent?
CW: "
Having been closely involved with the Class Gift during my time as a student, I knew I wanted to have involvement with it after graduation. Getting to implement our Class Gift has been an incredible opportunity. I have seen it from when it was just options on a ballot, and now we will be awarding our first Aggie Ring in September! Being a Class Agent allows me to be involved with Texas A&M for a long time to come, and I'm excited for the opportunity to be of service to my fellow 2017 classmates. I am passionate about Texas A&M and giving back to the university which gave me so much."
DR:
"[To] Engage classmates after graduation, contribute ideas to [Association of Former Students] leadership."

What goals do you have as a Class agent?
CW: "
First and foremost, we as Class Agents are elected to serve our fellow classmates. I want to make sure that the Class of 2017 has all the information that they want/need about A&M post-grad. Second, I want to ensure that our Class Gift is executed to the fullest extent. The Class of 2017 did an incredible job banding together and fundraising almost $50,000- and it's our job as Class Agents to make sure that our Aggie Ring Scholarship (our 1st class gift) is managed accurately. Another role we fulfill that a lot of people don't know about is sending condolence cards to family of Class of 2017 members who pass away. It's something we hope we do not have to do often, but it is incredibly special to be able to remind the family members of our classmates who pass that they will also be a member of the Class of 2017 and the Aggie family. Whenever we do write one of these notes, it's an opportunity to pause and be thankful for being a part of the Aggie family."
DR:
"[To] increase Century Club membership every year, have at least one Class representative at every leadership meeting, create three newsletters a year."

What organizations were you part of while at Texas A&M?
CW:
"I served as the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Class President for the Class of 2017. I was a member of Fish Council and the Public Relations Director for Class Councils. I served as a Muster Host 3 times, member of the inaugural Student Organization Advisory Board, Who's Who's Award selections committee, Buck Weirus Award selections committee, and Fish Camp Counselor."
DR: "Corps of Cadets, SGA, Hillel, AEPi, Chabad"
