Century Club Gifts Offer Sense Of Certainty For Students

Aggies helping Aggies: For over 140 years, and continuing now, The Association provides help in time of need. From helping A&M professors take their classes online and keeping student workers on the payroll, to making sure a student could stay enrolled and the sudden need to put Muster online-only for the first time in history, Association donors make it possible.

Students are supported financially during the pandemic thanks to Century Club members.

“Thank you so much for your continued support of Texas A&M. You are a light during this dark time.” – Leslie ’20

Every year, over 80 students participate in memorable conversations with thousands of former students through The Association of Former Students’ call center operations. Memories are shared from years past and tales of campus life are discussed between Aggies -- from the Classes of the 1940s to the present. Student callers strive to strengthen the relationship between former students and the Aggie Network, while leveraging Century Club memberships from our generous former students to ensure current students receive an exceptional academic experience.

The Association takes great pride in the ability to employ students, as there are many Aggies depending on a reliable source of income during college. As news spread in March of imminent closures of businesses due to local shelter-in-place mandates, these students’ livelihoods were immediately placed at-risk. On March 23, Brazos County issued a shelter-in-place forcing The Association to close operations, leaving 35 students unable to complete the work they were hired to do.

Without the technology in place for students to securely contact former students remotely, The Association worked diligently to prepare alternative opportunities for students to earn compensation knowing the financial hardships these students were facing.

Thanks to the support of Century Club members, The Association of Former Students was able to provide additional work opportunities that allowed the student callers to continue to engage and support the worldwide Aggie Network remotely while earning an income. The Association remains invested in our students because we know, as Texas Aggies, they will go on to make our world a better place.

We hope the message above from Callie ’21 conveys our deepest appreciation on behalf of our student callers for your support as a Century Club member.

"Thank you so much for providing work for us during these hard times. It means a lot for me to be able to still help out The Association and my family during these troubling times. Thank you!" – Gael ’23

The Association of Former Students has a bold vision to engage 100,000 donors annually for Texas A&M by the end of 2020. To learn more, visit tx.ag/100Kby2020. To help us help more Aggies and offer more support for current students, make a gift at tx.ag/Give.
