Fall 2020 Tailgating Guidelines

Hannah Lang '18 September 15, 2020 1:15 PM updated: September 28, 2020 10:24 AM

As the Texas A&M community continues to work together to slow the spread of the coronavirus, gameday in Aggieland will take on a new look.

Regarding away game activities, The Association of Former Students has canceled All-Aggie Tailgates at away games for the 2020 season. You can sign up to receive emails about future away game tailgates and Midnight Yell Practice at tx.ag/AwayGameEmails.

While The Association of Former Students has traditionally hosted home game activities at the All-Aggie Tailgate, plans will look different this semester. The Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center will be closed to the public for the first home game, and determinations will be made on operations for subsequent game days as the season progresses.

Texas A&M Athletics announced its fall 2020 football gameday guidelines on Thursday, Sept. 17, ahead of the football opener against Vanderbilt on Sept. 26. Read the full announcement here

For the first game, rules regarding tailgating include:

  • Aggie Park and other grass areas will be closed for tailgating.
  • Parking lots will open four hours prior to kickoff. No tents or grills are permitted.

These guidelines will be revisited after Game 1.

Other changes to the gameday experience include:

  • Flyovers will take place 15 minutes prior to kickoff.
  • The Corps Bootline, Aggie Dance Team, Yell Leaders and Reveille will not be on-field for the team's entry.
  • Face coverings are required as a condition of fan entry, egress and movement throughout the stadium, as well as when guests are unable to social distance from those not in their household.

These guidelines are subject to change.

The Association of Former Students has a bold vision to engage 100,000 donors annually for Texas A&M by the end of 2020. To learn more, visit tx.ag/100Kby2020. To help us help more Aggies, make a gift at tx.ag/Give.
