Texas A&M President M. Katherine Banks announced decisions Dec. 14 on recommendations made in October by consulting firm MGT regarding aspects of A&M’s organizational structure.
Some include major changes for A&M, from merging the colleges of Liberal Arts, Science and Geosciences to creating new units and facilities, centralizing some operations and more. Many require Board of Regents approval before moving forward.
Read Banks’ summary of her decisions here. It outlines recommendations to be accepted, accepted with modifications or rejected.
Banks said she will appoint working groups to develop implementation strategies: “Faculty, staff, students and former students are invited to nominate/self-nominate for the working groups. These groups will be identified and begin meeting in mid-January.” Banks also sought former student input via an emailed questionnaire before making decisions.
