Allan Richard Anderson
MARCH 15, 1950 – JANUARY 29, 2022

Allan Richard Anderson, age 71, of Vinton, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Allan was born March 15, 1950 to Clarence Richard Anderson and Martha Marie Stuchly Anderson.

Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Allan graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master’s in Agricultural Finance. An avid Aggie fan, he was really looking forward to this next season and now has the best seat of all. Was a loving husband and father, he loved completely and deeply. His love for agriculture went from grain to cotton to flowers to oak trees, he had the only green thumb in the family. As he would say, “just because you were a farmer, you didn’t have to dress like a hick.” His strong work ethic and do-it-yourself attitude lives on in his loved ones. Always making people feel welcome, he strove to make the best of things and reminded us…things will get better. “We never get beat, we just run out of time.”

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Marilyn Anderson of Vinton; daughter, Shelley Anderson Boyer '07 and husband Matthew of Vinton; son, Cullen Anderson '06 of Vinton; brothers, Ron Anderson of San Antonio, TX and Michael Anderson and wife Juanita of San Benito, TX; sister, Anita Anderson of San Antonio, TX, Marilyn Meyers and husband Mike of San Antonio, TX and Sharon Wendt of Houston, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and family pets.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

The family will begin receiving friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mont Meta Memorial Park (26170 TX-345, San Benito, TX 78586) on Friday, February 4, 2022.
