Erica Dianne Malzer
November 8th, 1979 - February 20th, 2022
Erica Dianne Malzer of Bedford, Texas passed away February 20, 2022, at the age of forty-two. She was born to mother, Margaret Malzer, and father, Eric Malzer on November 8, 1979, in Irving, Texas. Erica loved college football and was a true Texas Aggie fan. She worked for 19 years in the Irving Independent School District starting as an elementary classroom teacher and most recently as Assistant Principal at Clifton Early Childhood School. Erica was passionate about her career in education and was a real advocate for children’s welfare and education. She enriched the lives of so many children and colleagues in her years of being in the education industry. She loved collecting “tiny things”, was a huge fan of the Golden Girls and her Tieks shoes collection. She also loved her morning Starbucks runs.
Left to cherish the memory of Erica is her father, Eric Malzer; mother, Margaret Malzer; sister, Amanda Malzer; fiancé, Brad Buckley; grandfather, Gordon Malzer; grandmother, Alice Malzer; aunts and uncles: Fred and Doris King, David and Mary Jo Reed, Jeff and Linda Lee, and Debi Jo Malzer – Lindsey; numerous cousins; bonus parents, Mike and Nancy Bell; as well as many loving and special friends including her extended Buckley family who will all miss Erica dearly.
Family will receive friends Friday, March 4, 2022 from 5:00p.m. thru 7:00p.m. at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 North MacArthur Blvd. Irving, Texas 75061…The family is asking if you have a special or fond memory or a funny story about Erica, to please write these down and bring them to the Family Visitation or Celebration of Life Service.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Plymouth Park Baptist Church 1714 N. Story Rd. Irving, Texas 75061…To honor Erica’s love for Texas A&M, the family is requesting you to wear a Texas A&M shirt, or something Maroon.
