The oldest living Aggies

At least 10 former students are known to be 100 years or older.

The oldest known living Aggie is Col. George Baram '37 of Coronado, California, who turned 110 in May 2024.

Baram was a cadet at Texas A&M and received a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering.

James F. Scheumack '41 of Green Valley, Arizona, who will turn 106 in December 2024, was a cadet and lived in Walton Hall. He graduated in 1942 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

Charles L. Walker '41 of San Antonio, who turned 104 in July 2023, was a cadet and received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He is a retired owner of Harrison and Walker Construction Co.

John O. Booker, Jr. '42 of Lufkin, Texas, turned 103 in March 2024. He was a cadet, earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering and served as Mayor of Pineland, Texas for many years. 

William O. Karcher '42 of Austin celebrated his 104th birthday in July 2023. He was a cadet and studied agricultural administration while at A&M. 

Lou L. Manchester '42 of Austin will turn 104 in December 2024. He was a cadet and received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He is a retired president of Gripper Inc. 

Edward A. Sterling III '42 of Tacoma, Washington, turned 103 years old in March 2024. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and has had a long career as a priest. 

Oscar S. Wyatt, Jr. '45 of Houston turned 100 in July of 2024. He was the first donor to the Texas A&M University School of Law and earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. 

Theron N. Riley '47 of Houston will celebrate his 104th birthday in December 2024. He was a cadet and earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering. 

Joseph C. D'Abadie '51 of Cedar Park, Texas, turned 104 in March 2024. He was a cadet, and earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

The previous oldest Aggie ever to have lived, as far as can be determined by Association records, was Col. Tom C. "Ike" Morris '33 of San Antonio. He passed away Oct. 20, 2019, at the age of 109 years. Read more about Morris at tx.ag/IkeMorris33.
