Adam Nelson Carr
December 3, 1979 - December 24, 2022
Our beloved, Adan Nelson Carr, DVM, died suddenly on 12/24/2022 in Orange County, CA. He was 43 years old. Adam was born in Orange County, CA on December 3, 1979 to Sheryl Ann (Hynes) Carr and Thomas Nelson Carr.
Adam attended Foothill High School in Tustin, CA. He graduated Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Zoology with honors. Dr. Carr did his doctorate studies at Texas A&M University where in 2007 he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
After earning his medical degree, Dr. Carr returned home to southern California where he began practicing and worked for several prominent large animal practices, mainly treating horses. This included work at Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm amusement parks. Later he would transition his career path to work more with small animals in various clinics and practices, doing many hours of relief work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Adam was a selfless person who gave much and often to his career, family, friends, patients and colleagues. He always put the needs and desires of others above his own. He had a love and understanding for animals from an early age that continued until his death. He spent his free time enjoying many hobbies including camping, golfing, hunting, skeet shooting, paddleboarding, Angels baseball, Texas A&M Aggies football, reading, scuba diving and traveling.
Dr. Adam Carr is survived by his parents, Thomas and Sheryl Carr, his brother Mattthew Carr, sister-in-law Brooke Carr and nieces Charlotte & Courtney Carr along with countless colleagues and friends.
