Shelby Rose Martin

Shelby Rose Martin, 27, of Llano, passed away January 25, 2023 in Round Rock, surrounded by family.
Shelby was born on May 15, 1995 in Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Llano High School in 2013. She continued her education at Texas A&M University, graduating with a B.S. in Animal Science.
In high school, Shelby was a talented and respected drum major. She was a National Honor Society member and graduated in the top ten percent of her class. She was involved with many clubs, including a winning meat judging team.
In college, Shelby was active in many organizations including Aggie Relay for Life, Texas A&M Concert Band, Texas A&M Meats Science Quiz Bowl Team, Texas A&M Wool Judging Team, Saddle & Sirloin Club, National Society of Collegiate Scholars as well as other mentor and leadership groups.
Shelby was a national champion with her high school FFA meat judging and collegiate wool judging teams.
Shelby's dedication to animals led her to work as a professional dog trainer and she was a committed animal rescue and shelter volunteer.
Shelby was intelligent, kind-hearted, funny and outgoing. We will always remember her infectious smile, beautiful blue eyes, vivacious personality and her love of animals.
Shelby is survived by her parents, Patrick and Heather Martin; grandmother Janice Martin; grandparents Jack and Marge Martin; sister Julie (Peyton) Bredahl; brother Cole Bandelman; aunt Leslie (Mark) Ritter; cousins Christopher Ritter and Caroline Ritter; family Mike and Renee Gibbons and Alana Parker and Steve Short; partner Ben Rubenstein; close friend Jennifer Carrier; her beloved canine friend, Mace; as well as a host of other loving family and friends.
Shelby is preceded in death by her dear mother, Shani Martin.
There will be a private service for family members only. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Highland Lakes Canine Rescue in Shelby's memory.
