Darrell Wayne Gunn 

November 19, 1949 - July 1, 2023 

Darrell Wayne Gunn 73, of Edisto Island, South Carolina, passed away on July 1, 2023.

Darrell was born to Ocie Clem and Imogene Gunn on November 19, 1949, in Upshur County, TX.

Darrell graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station in 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and was a Registered Surveyor and Professional Engineer. He worked at numerous places throughout Texas and Florida before becoming the General Manager at Harlingen Water Works, where he retired from and continued on as a consultant.

Darrell had a true passion for making music and sharing his talents with others. Whether it was a one-man band or with a group of talented musicians, he spent decades of his life bringing joy to his community and family through his gift of music.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Iris Hill, and his two daughters, Chelsy and Christa Gunn. Darrell was predeceased by his parents, Ocie Clem Gunn and Imogene (Barnett) Gunn, and his brothers Eugene and Larry Gunn.

The interment for Darrell will be at Rosewood Baptist Church Cemetery in Gilmer, TX. Services will be announced at a later date.
