Dr. Craig Casper Bowden
July 28, 1962 ~ November 16, 2022
Craig Bowden, age 60, of rural Neshkoro, WI was called to his Heavenly home on November 16, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Morris, MN on July 28, 1962, to Catherine (Hanson) Bowden and Lyle Bowden. He grew up in small town Herman, MN, raised by his mother in the home of his beloved grandparents, Casper and Laura Hanson.
A graduate of Herman-Norcross School in Herman, MN, Craig received his B.A. in psychology at the University of Minnesota-Morris. He earned the M.S. degree and Ph.D. in industrial-organizational psychology at Texas A&M University, where he met his wife, Deborah Krause.
Dr. Bowden was an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky in the 1990s. After moving to Wisconsin in 1998, he taught at many area colleges, including more than 15 years at Mid-State Technical College. Craig not only renewed his passion for music but built many enduring friendships by playing organ at several area churches and teaching private piano lessons after moving to Wisconsin.
Craig and Deborah were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Neshkoro on June 12, 1993. Craig took great delight in being a dad to their two sons. Reading books, especially those of the horror genre, was a passion. Craig spent time playing piano, learning the French language, completing crossword puzzles, and traveling. He loved his feline companions. Craig was known to all as easy going, friendly, and compassionate.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 29 years, Deborah Krause, and their two sons, Abbott and Dashiell. He is further survived by his aunt, Lorraine Hanson; mother-in-law, Laverne Drover; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Bonnie Krause; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Craig in death were his mother, Catherine Bowden; aunt, Phyllis Hanson; brother-in-law, Daniel Krause; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Rick Julien.
A Memorial Service for Craig Bowden will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at the Zion Lutheran Church, 227 N. State St., in Neshkoro.
