Donald Leon Williams

Donald L. Williams, 87, of San Angelo passed away December 19, 2007, in a local hospital. He was born June 1, 1920, to Waddell Pierce and Cora Boney Williams in Dallas, Texas. He married Helen Marie Wohlford on Nov. 25, 1950, in San Angelo, Texas.
Don graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in engineering. He joined the Army in 1942 and served as General's Aid and first lieutenant during World War II with time spent serving in an anti-aircraft battery in the Philippines.
Following the war, Don was employed as a land surveyor with Sun Oil Company and worked in San Angelo. He later was a partner in the land surveying firm of Wilson, Williams, Langohr and Associates. He served as president of the Texas Land Surveyors Association in 1975-76. He retired in 1987.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his son, Brett; his parents; and six siblings.
He is survived by his daughter, Jan Williams Henderson and her husband Craig of San Angelo; his daughter-in-law, Anne Bleakley Williams of San Angelo; and a sister-in-law, Bobbie Wohlford of Fort Smith, Ark. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
