Andrew "Drew" Fancher '19 December 29, 2023 3:35 PM updated: December 29, 2023 3:43 PM

Andrew Parkes "Drew" Fancher

August 6, 1990 - November 13, 2023

Andrew “Drew” Parkes Fancher, age 33, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of November 13, 2023.

Drew was a warrior who loved hard and was loyal and true, sometimes to a fault! He was an amazing husband, son, and brother. And a friend, protector, and leader to so many. Drew was a giver even in the end as an organ donor and his death is blessing many others with sustained or enhanced life.

Drew was born August 6, 1990, in Houston, Texas. When he was born, he didn’t cry, but simply looked at the world around him and at Mom and Dad with those piercing blue eyes. Over the course of his 33 years, he always looked ahead with vision, purpose, and a hunger for life. He was infectious in his personality and quick to laugh and brought light to those around him. Drew also loved Jesus and was strong in his faith up to the end; he and his dad were sharing a Bible study on the book of Joshua in the last few weeks of his life.

Drew and wife, Brittany, were married for four years and were together for eight. When Drew has his mind set on something he wants, nothing can stand in his way! Brittany was no exception. The couple met at work and Drew secretly planned a lunch date with co-workers, making sure Brittany was invited. She wouldn’t learn until months later it was all a plan for them to be able to talk. They were married on July 6, 2019 with Drew’s dad presiding.

One of Drew’s passions in life was Texas A&M University where his parents went to school. Drew chose to play football at Denison University and finished his undergraduate degree at Kennesaw State University, but always wanted his Aggie ring. With the encouragement of Brittany, he was able to achieve this dream by earning his Masters in Industrial Distribution at Texas A&M, Class of 2019.

Watching Aggie sports with his dad (and sometimes mom and wife) was a year-round practice, with trips to many football games, the SEC basketball championship, and the College World Series. He also loved hunting, a place where he said he felt closest to God. He later took up scuba diving and he said it was the one place where the world was quiet. He also had a love for his three four-legged fur babies, Wyatt, Trooper, and Teddy. If you had the privilege of ever being around him while he was with them, you heard his baby voice. Something his wife loved because he saved that voice for the pups and her alone.

Drew’s final love was creating and running The Forum Cocktail Company with his wife in the Upper West Side of Atlanta – fulfilling a lifelong dream and accomplishment.

Drew is preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmett Fancher and Donal and JoAnn Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Brittany Burkett Fancher, his mother and father, Tess and Don Fancher, brothers William and Tate Fancher, grandmother Faye Fancher, mother-in-law Kim Burkett, brother and sister-in-law Blake and Grace Burkett, and niece Annie Blake Burkett.

We will celebrate his life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 2:00p at North Point Community Church, 4350 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta, GA. Following the service, for those who would like to join us, we welcome you to remember him with friends at The Forum Cocktail Company, 208 Chattahoochee Row NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.

Finally, in lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to K9s For Warriors. Drew loved our military and had a special place in his heart for those facing PTSD. This combined with his love for dogs makes it a perfect charity to honor Drew’s life.
