Jason Kent Zachary, 51, of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully at his home on November 21, 2023. Born on April 11, 1972, in Dallas, TX, Jason's life was a testament to the enduring power of God's love and grace.
Jason was a loving husband and a devoted father to his 3 boys. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and could be found playing/coaching baseball, skiing, traveling, and golfing. He consistently brought kindness, wisdom, honesty, and humor into every interaction. He was always genuine and had a unique way of always bringing out the very best in others.
Above all, Jason was a man of faith. His trust in God was unwavering in the most difficult circumstances. He was an example of what it meant to live a life that projected God’s great love, grace and mercy.
Jason attended Southern Arkansas University where he played baseball. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Finance. He attended Chicago Kent College of Law and received his LLM from Georgetown University. Jason enjoyed being an attorney and felt blessed that he was able to practice in Chicago, New York City and Denver throughout his career.
In May of 2020, Jason was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. Jason navigated his diagnosis and treatment with grace, courage, and strength from his solid faith in God. Despite the challenges he and his family faced, he took the opportunity to become an advocate for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance in hopes of promoting awareness and prevention of this terrible disease. Always rooted in his faith and trust in God’s plan, he truly was an inspiration to others.
Jason is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Zachary, and their three sons, Parker, Tyler, and Alex. He leaves behind his mother, Gail Zachary, father, Sonny Zachary, brother, Scott (Heather) Zachary as well as many extended family members. Jason joins his maternal grandparents, Wilma and Burl Preston, and paternal grandfather, Vaudery Zachary in eternal rest.
A visitation to honor Jason's life will be held at Fairmount Funeral Home on Friday, December 1st, from 5-7pm, and on Saturday, December 2nd, from 9-10am. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday, December 2nd, from 10-11am, followed by a reception. Fairmount Funeral Home, located at 430 S. Quebec St. in Denver, CO.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance in memory of Jason. Jason will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He has left a legacy of faith, loyalty and love that will forever be cherished. He has found eternal peace with his Heavenly Father.
