William Terry "Bill" Cobb
November 9, 1926 - March 23, 2024
William Terry Cobb, age 97, of Lakeway, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Bill was born to Laura and James Carl Cobb, the youngest of four children. He had two older sisters, Maxine and Bonnie, and one older brother, Wayne.
Bill attended Central Catholic High School in San Antonio, TX. He graduated at 16 and went into the Army Air Corps, where he served his country. Bill was blessed to be on the first Honor Flight where WWII veterans were flown from Austin to Washington D.C. and was accompanied by his long-time friend, Charles Edwards.
After his time in the service, Bill attended Texas A&M University and graduated in the class of ’47. Bill was a true Aggie (gig ‘em) until the end and was proud to present the class rings to his granddaughter, Sunny Ardizzoni, and great-niece, Jamie O’Brien.
Bill met and married his wife Dorothy “Dot” Paul on August 19, 1950. They had four children, Bill, Kelly, Chris, and John Paul Cobb. Bill was a great and loving father. He filled the house with love, kindness and fun. Bill always had a new joke for his kids and their friends, who looked at him as their second father.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Dot; two sons, Bill and John; daughter Kelly; nephew Mike O’Brien.
He is survived by long-time friend and companion, Christine Wotkyns; daughter Chris (Jason) Cobb; three grandchildren, Bo (Nicole) Cobb, Paul (Gaby) Stevenson, Sunny (Nathan) Ardizzoni; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Harper Cobb. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who he adored, and granddogs, Cracker Jack, Zippy, and Mellow.
