August 26, 1968 - May 2, 2024
Curtis Homer Villarreal, 55, passed away at home in Katy, TX early, Thursday morning on May 2, 2024.
He was born on August 26, 1968, in Sumter, SC to Homer and Rachel Villarreal, and grew up in El Paso, TX.
Curtis attended and graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He moved to Houston, TX right after graduation upon accepting a position with AECOM/TC&B. He has spent the past 16 years of his career working for LJA Engineering Inc.-Land Development as a Senior Project Manager.
Curtis was not one to sit still! He always had some sort of project that he was working on. In his spare time, he loved building things, being outdoors and working at the ranch. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. On many a weekend, he could be found out in the bay fishing or in the Texas brush hunting deer, duck, turkey, or wild boar. Curtis was an amazing cook who loved trying out a variety of different recipes.
Curtis was a man of few words but spoke volumes through his actions and loyalty to family and friends. He took great pride in helping others and had a heart of gold. He will be deeply missed by all those that had the privilege of knowing him.
Curtis is survived by his significant other, Vicki Bastianen; his former wife, Nikki Barton Villarreal and their children Dylan and Carson Villarreal; sister Roby (Joel) Gonzales, and niece Victoria Gonzales; as well as an uncle, aunt, cousins and several lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Rachel Villarreal and both sets of grandparents.
