Houston Franklin Dunkin, age 53, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched.
After growing up in Harlingen, adventuring and traveling with his parents, Houston attended The Hill School in Pottstown, PA for his high school years graduating in 1989 and then on to his much loved alma mater- Texas A&M University Class of 1993.
Houston’s charming personality and strong work ethic led him straight into the mortgage business where he worked in Houston and The Rio Grande Valley for years, culminating as Regional Vice President for Eustis Mortgage Company.
Houston married his sweetheart Kay in 1996 and was the proud father of 4 and adoring grandfather of 3 with another on the way. Settling back home in Harlingen, his love for his family was evident in everything he did everyday. His story would not be complete if we did not mention his love for fishing, hunting and the great South Texas outdoor life of deer leases with friends, watching Aggie football, playing golf, harvesting the kids first “big buck” and always searching for that perfect fishing spot, especially if it was the one his big brother, Douglas, thought was his secret location
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 28 years of marriage; Kay Kristen Dunkin. Daughter; Sue Kristen Champion (Wesley), Sons; James Dunkin, Dial Dunkin and Daughter; Katie Dunkin, all of Harlingen.
Father; Dial Mathew Dunkin. Sister; Donnette Lanae Hansen (Sheila), Brother; Douglas Lloyd Dunkin (Darling), Brother; Doak Mathew Dunkin (Nora), Sister; Peggy O'Brien (David), Brother; Warren Wade Dunkin (Lisa), Sister; Sandra Dunkin (Dave).
