Kristopher Davis "Kris" Lacy 

January 8, 1974 - June 9, 2024 

Kristopher Davis Lacy, beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, passed away tragically in an automobile accident in Montgomery County, Texas on June 9, 2024, at the age of 50.

Kris was born on January 8, 1974, in Baytown, Texas, and spent his formative years in Baytown, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Katy, Texas. He pursued higher education at Stephen F. Austin and graduated from Texas A&M University, embodying a spirit of determination and resilience from a young age.

Diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the tender age of two, Kris faced adversity with unwavering courage and optimism. He refused to let the disease define his life, always approaching challenges with a tenacity that inspired all who knew him. At 50, Kris understood the preciousness of life, having defied medical odds with a steadfast belief in his ability to overcome obstacles.

Kris was a natural athlete who found joy and solace on the soccer field, a passion he pursued well into his 40s. His adventurous spirit led him around the globe, from Europe to Singapore, and even to thrilling encounters like diving with great white sharks in Australia, bungee jumping and heli-hiking the Franz Josef glacier in New Zealand. A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kris cherished the experience of witnessing them play in Super Bowl XLV.

In his professional life, Kris was known for his intellect, dedication, and leadership. He held roles in finance within banking and energy sectors, earning respect for his expertise and unyielding work ethic. During his career, which included a notable assignment in London, Kris became known for his commitment to excellence and his belief in coaching over managing, guiding others with wisdom and compassion.

Beyond his professional achievements, Kris was cherished for his kind heart and loyalty. He was a self-proclaimed “lone wolf” often quiet and reserved, but he cared deeply for his family and friends, always prioritizing integrity and doing the right thing. His legacy of leaving things better than he found them resonated deeply with all who crossed his path.

Kris is survived by his loving wife, Madelynne Lacy, his parents Jan and Dave Holsinger, his brothers Kevin (Stacey) Holsinger and Brian Holsinger, and his special nephew Justus Holsinger. He was preceded in death by his father, John Lacy.

A celebration of Kris' life will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2024, at District 249 Bar and Grill, 23238 SH-249, Tomball, TX 77375. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Houston, an organization that remained close to Kris's heart throughout his life.
