Jeffrey Reed Brown, Sr. 

June 6, 1946 - June 26, 2024 

On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, in his home with his wife, children, and grandchildren by his side, Jeffrey Reed Brown,78, of Edmond, OK went to his heavenly home, peacefully in the arms of His savior.

Jeff was born June 6, 1946 in Canton, Ohio, to Richard and Ruth Smith Brown. He served four years in the United States Air Force followed by earning his Bachelors and Masters in Aerospace Engineering, graduating with honors in 1973 from Texas A&M University. After college, he was recruited by Exxon Mobile in Houston, TX followed by a career full of many achievements in the oil and gas industry.

Jeff met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Mary Beth Sampson, at Texas High School in Texarkana, TX. They married in 1965 and after living and raising their family many years in Spring, Texas, they went on to live in Lafayette, LA, Edmond, OK, The Woodlands, TX, Austin, TX, and Beijing, China.

Jeff was a family man, leader, avid learner, out of the box thinker, and most importantly, a follower of Jesus. He was bold in sharing with others about the saving grace found in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of the living God.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Mary Sampson Brown and his three children, Tammy (Nathan) Scott of Austin, TX, Jeffrey (Jamie) Brown, Jr of College Station, TX, and Mandy (Eric) Richardson of Edmond, OK.

In addition to his children, Jeff is survived by eight grandchildren; Samantha, Hannah, and Megan Scott; Jeffrey Reed Brown, III; Micah (Annie), Jacob, Ethan, and Molly Richardson; and three great grandchildren, Ryser and Reed Scott; and Evelyn Richardson; and his brother, Todd Brown, of Tyler, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ruth Brown.

Jeff’s Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 20th, Visitation with family - 1:00pm, Service - 2:00pm, Grace Bible Church - Creekside Campus, 4601 Williams Creek Dr, College Station, TX. Memorials may be made to East-West Ministries at eastwest.org to Missionary #9118
