Allen Glenn Baetge

September 29, 1950 - December 16, 2024

Allen Glenn Baetge was born to Oscar and Eleanor Baetge on September 29, 1950, in New Braunfels, Texas. He passed away at home on December 16, 2024, at the age of 74, with his wife Janet by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet; daughters Allison Nitsch (and Jason), Andrea Baetge (and Michael Edwards); those who know him as PaPa (Jackson, Ava, and Austin); brother, Robert Baetge; brother-in-law, Dennis Kaderli (and Janie); nieces and nephews (Sarah Flores, Jonathan Kaderli, Erin White, and Justin Baetge).

Growing up in New Braunfels, Allen graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1969 and then went on to graduate from Texas A&M University in 1973 with a degree in Engineering, where he was also a member of the Corps of Cadets. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant with the U.S. Army Infantry and spent 8 years in active reserve. In 1974, Allen began his career in engineering with U.S. Gypsum until 1989 and then moved to Houston to work for Jacobs Engineering in 1990 where he retired in 2015.

Allen’s passions were Aggie football, spending time in his backyard grilling and swimming (always with a beer in his hand), traveling and spending time with family.

If you knew Allen, you knew his sense of humor, his wittiness, his love for animals, and the outdoors.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held. In memory of Allen, if you wish to make a donation, please do so to a charity of your choice.
