Christian Abel Huapaya Lopez 

December 20, 1973 - September 10, 2024 

Christian Abel Huapaya Lopez, 50, of Houston, Texas, passed away on September 10, 2024. He was born in Trujillo, Peru on December 20, 1973, the son of Cesar Eloy Huapaya Romero and Alicia Juana Lopez Guarniz.

Christian grew up in Lima, Peru and graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI) with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

In 2002, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University.

Christian enjoyed traveling with his family to his wife's native Germany as well as several other European countries. He was an avid supporter of the Peruvian soccer team Alianza Lima and Formula 1.

Christian's big smile will be missed by his many friends and family in the USA, Peru and Germany.

He is survived by his wife Susanne, twin daughters Annika and Paula, parents Cesar Eloy Huapaya Romero and Alicia Juana Lopez Guarniz, and brothers Osmand Eduardo and Rainiero Cesar Huapaya Lopez.

A celebration of life will be held in Christian's honor on Friday, September 27, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Drive, Houston TX 77079. Friends and loved ones are invited to come up to the podium and share stories of how Christian touched their lives. The family would like to request everyone wear colorful clothing instead of black.
