Carlos D. Torralva, Jr. passed away December 24, 2024, in Dallas, Tx., after a brief illness. He was 69 years old. Carlos was born on October 24, 1955 in San Antonio, Tx. to Carlos and Irma (Ramirez) Torralva. He was raised in San Antonio and attended Jefferson High School. His love for architecture started at a young age and it never wavered throughout his life. He proudly attended Texas A & M University for his Bachelor of Environmental Design degree in 1977 and Master of Architecture degree in 1981.
Carlos moved to Dallas in 1981 and began his 43 year career with Page Southerland Page as a Registered Architect. He focused his talents on healthcare projects and he was instrumental in delivering the highest quality designs for numerous healthcare clients. His experience included master planning, design and construction administration of a broad range of medical building types and facilities.
Carlos had a deep emotional connection with family, childhood friends, college friends, neighborhood friends and his Page family over the years. He would do anything for anyone, at any time. In 1993 he met his future wife Yvonne at a St. Patrick’s Day party hosted by mutual friends. They married in 1996 and began 28 years of marriage with Yvonne and her son, Joshua Hunt. In 2014 he and Yvonne became grandparents and are now blessed with 5 grandchildren. In addition to the people he loved in his life he had a passion for motorcycles, corvettes, competitive shooting, Weimariners, and Riley his cat.
Carlos is preceded in death by his parents and many more uncles, aunts, and cousins. He is survived by his wife Yvonne, stepson Josh (his wife, Kim), grandchildren; Lola, Azelie, Leo, Jack, Benny. His brother Joe Torralva (Nicole), nieces Carisa and Tegan, nephew Adan, and many more cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carlos’s name to American Cancer Society.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 7, at 6:00 pm, followed by Visitation to 8:00 pm at Calvary Hill Funeral Home Dallas, 3235 Lombardy Ln., Dallas, TX 75520. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 8, at 10:00 am, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Dr, Dallas, TX 75214. Immediately following Mass, Carlos will be laid to rest at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln., Dallas, TX 75520. A reception will follow at Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
