It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Kay (Moskal) Hearn, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, stepmother, and friend, on November 24, 2024. Born on March 20, 1966, in Harlingen, Texas, Karen was the cherished daughter of Don and Nancy Moskal. She was the devoted wife of Mike Hearn and a shining light whose love and kindness touched everyone she met.
Karen grew up surrounded by the warmth of her family and the natural beauty of the Rio Grande Valley. She proudly represented her community when she was named the Cover Girl of the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show in 1984, a reflection of her poise, grace, and vibrant spirit.
Karen was a proud former student of Texas A&M University, College Station, Class of 1988. Her time at Texas A&M was filled with lasting friendships and a deep passion for the university's traditions and values. Karen was also a dedicated member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, where she formed lifelong bonds and embraced leadership, sisterhood, and service.
She was a loving mother to her cherished daughter, Kathryn Francis Hearn, and a devoted stepmother to Sam Hearn, whom she loved as her own. Their bond was one of unconditional love and support, and both Kathryn and Sam will carry forward her legacy of compassion and strength.
Karen was the treasured sister of Merry, Don E., and Tony. Together, they created countless memories filled with love, laughter, and deep connection that will be forever cherished.
Karen’s professional accomplishments were remarkable. She worked for the California Table Grape Commission for 25 years, where she excelled and found great joy in her career. Her dedication, passion, and enthusiasm for her work left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the industry she loved.
Karen will be remembered not only for her love and compassion but for the joy she brought into every moment. Her memory will remain a guiding light for her family and friends, who were fortunate to share in her journey.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM, at Bluebonnet Funeral Home, located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Good Shepherd Catholic Community, located at 1000 Tinker Road, Colleyville, TX 76034.
