Roll Call Tribute

Clifton "Wayne" Steinbring '74 January 18, 2025 3:05 PM updated: January 18, 2025 3:10 PM

Clifton W. "Wayne" Steinbring

June 9, 1952 - December 16, 2024

Clifton "Wayne" Steinbring, 72, of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away peacefully at home on December 16, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born June 9, 1952, in Sanford, Florida, Wayne was the son of the late Clifton and Jacquelyn Steinbring of Fredericksburg, Texas. Wayne graduated in 1970 from Richardson High School, Richardson, TX. After graduation he attended Texas A&M University and obtained a Bachelor of Environmental Design (Architecture & planning) in 1974. He continued his education further in 1974-75 at McNay Art Institute, 1975 University of Texas art department, and then in 1976 at the Houston Contemporary Arts Museum School. He worked as a sculptor, custom cabinet maker (partner in Weinberger & Steinbring 1981-2002), and community activist in Hudson County, NJ. In 2005 he moved back to the family ranch and retired as a full time Rancher. Wayne's passion for helping others within the community was very dear to his abundantly kind heart.

Wayne is survived by his sister, two brothers and each of their extended families, numerous cousins (his Primo Tim Keeter) and his best friend Isidro Guzman. He also leaves behind his beloved canine Chelada. For everyone that knew Wayne it comes to no surprise that he chose to not have a traditional service to celebrate his life.

Arrangements are by the Schaetter Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent at www.schaetter.com
