Billy Wayne Dyer, age 73, of Mabank, Texas passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. Our dad was born to Thelma Adeline Cook-Dyer and Chester Arvin Dyer, on a cold evening in Dallas, Texas at St. Paul’s Hospital on February 26, 1951. He is the baby of three children, Jack Dyer, Sandra Dyer-Featherston and Billy Wayne Dyer.

Dad was reared in Mabank, Texas and attended elementary, middle school, and graduated from Mabank High School. Dad was involved with many activities from football to agriculture, fishing and hunting. Our dad met Mom (Nada Roylene Smith-Dyer) at Mabank schools and through local fellowships, and they would begin dating during their sophomore year in high school. Dad wed Mom in a small ceremony performed at Grandma and Grandaddy Dyer’s home just off County Road 3080, and they would reside in a home in Bryan-College Station. Dad graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science in 1973. Dad and Mom returned to Mabank, Texas and built their home off CR 3080 and would spend their entire lives here.

Dad and Mom had four children, Billy Dyer and his wife Angela; Tracy Dyer-Rash and her husband Jeff; Russell Dyer and his wife Traci; and Adam Dyer and his wife Cara. Dad and Mom would spend their entire lives supporting their family of six, working, ranching, rearing beef cattle, and operating a business by the name of Bill Dyer’s Construction Company. Dad was very knowledgeable about the Bible and often preached and shared his Bible knowledge in his local churches (Church of Christ). Dad also served on the Deacon board at the Church of Christ. Dad and Mom were married just short of their 50th wedding anniversary, as Mom passed away in May and their 50th anniversary was in June that year. Dad would soon wed Imogene Spurger-Dyer, and they resided in Mabank and Kemp (Lighthouse Marina) Imogene and Dad would have celebrated their five-year anniversary.

Dad is preceded in death by his wife Nada Roylene Smith-Dyer, his father Chester Arvin Dyer, his mother Thelma Adeline Cook-Dyer, a brother Jack Dyer, and a granddaughter Shellie Dawn Haley.
