Raymond A. "Ray" Hafner

December 12, 1960 - December 16, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Albert Hafner, who left us on December 16, 2024, at the age of 64. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on December 12, 1960, Ray lived a life full of laughter and smiles. He was a devoted father, son, brother and friend. His warm heart and humor touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ray graduated from Westchester High School and later earned his degree from Texas A&M University where he formed lifelong friendships. Ray lived in Katy, Texas and had very fond memories of growing up in Iowa and Arkansas. Ray built his career in the title insurance business and turned colleagues into friends.

Ray’s greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Rachel Cahill (Brendan), Claire Bass (Cody), and son Nathaniel Hafner. He leaves behind his favorite grandchildren, Emmy & Talley. He was a proud father, always bragging about his kids. His legacy will live on in them and in the love he so generously gave.

Ray was the baby of 8, he is survived by his sister Tana Burton (Tom) and brothers Joseph Jr. (Merrill), Danny, Stan (Johanna) and Steve Hafner. Ray is also survived by his ex-wives Rebecca and Donna Hafner, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Hafner née McGowan and his brothers Albert and John Hafner. He is now reunited with his family, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

An avid conversationalist, Ray found happiness in playing pool in dive bars. His infectious laughter and love of chatting will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A gathering to celebrate Ray’s life will be held at Mo’s Place in Katy, Texas on February 1st, 2024 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
