December 13, 1955 - December 23, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of P.D. “David” Bairrington on December 23, 2024, at the age of 69. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend whose life was marked by his deep love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his generous spirit that touched everyone he met. He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him.
David is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife of 50 years, Jean; his two children, Mark and Danielle; and his four grandchildren, Taylor, London, Hank, and Knox. His family was his greatest source of pride and he took immense joy in spending time with them, sharing stories, and creating unforgettable memories.
His greatest joy in life was being a grandfather where he found tremendous happiness in the laughter, curiosity, and love shared with his grandchildren. Watching them grow and being a part of their lives brought him unparalleled fulfillment.
David’s friendships were another source of vast joy. He cultivated deep and lasting friendships, always finding time to connect and support those he cared about. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor made him a cherished companion to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
David graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and then began his distinguished 30+ year career with Phillips 66 (ConocoPhillips). With the support of Jean and his family, they had the opportunity to travel the world moving more than 15 times domestically and abroad. Upon retiring from ConocoPhillips, he never stopped pursuing other business ventures including most recently to build a family business with his son, son-in-law, and close personal friend. Known for his intelligence, integrity, and ability to bring out the best in others, he was a mentor to many and a key figure in shaping many young professionals’ careers.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Phil & Maxine, and his brother Ron and additionally mourned by his surviving brothers, Ben and Hollis. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the wisdom he imparted, and the love he shared.
A private memorial service for the family and close friends was held in late December.
