Joe Terry Wilson 

June 16, 1934 - January 9, 2025 

Joe Terry Wilson, 90, of Dallas, Texas, died peacefully at his home in Dallas on January 8, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born in Munger, Texas on June 16, 1934 to Joe Walker Wilson and Launa Murphy Wilson, enjoying growing up on the Wilson family farm. Joe Terry attended Hubbard High School, graduating in 1951, and then studying at Texas A&M University graduating in 1956 with an Agriculture degree in Agronomy. He was a member of Texas A&M’s ROTC and upon graduation joined the United States Navy.

Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he joined Goldthwaite’s of Texas for the next 40 years until his retirement. His retirement was spent enjoying summers at the beach in southern Maine with his wife and daughters, vegetable gardening, remaining a devoted Texas A&M supporter, spoiling his bichons, Libby, Sugarplum and Mistletoe, and, above all else, spending time with his beloved family.

Joe Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Walker Wilson and Launa Murphy Wilson, and his sister, Beth Wilson Starnes,

He is survived by his dear wife of 64 years, Dorothy Wilson, and their daughters, Debbie Wilson and Linda Wilson, both of Dallas, Texas. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Frank Wilson and husband, Bill Smith, of Houston, Texas, Joe Starnes, husband of Beth Starnes, of Dallas, Texas, and a host of cherished nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place Monday, January 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Hubbard, Texas.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made online to the Joe Terry Wilson '56 Memorial Scholarship Fund through Texas A&M Association of Former Students Memorial Giving.
