Mary Frances (Pohl) Regenbrecht
September 21, 1968 - January 14, 2025
Mary Frances Pohl Regenbrecht, 56, of Ezzell, Texas passed away peacefully on January 14th, 2025, after a lengthy illness. She was born on September 21, 1968, to James & Frances Powell Pohl, in Denton, TX.
Mary graduated from Terry High School in Rosenburg, Texas and earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station. She worked as an Engineer in Houston, then after the birth of their first child decided to dedicate her life to raising and homeschooling her three children. Her magnetic energy and care for others was felt by all who met her, including her children’s close friends and her hardworking hospital staff. Her dedication to family, her husband, and her children was unyielding and full of joyful laughter.
Mary volunteered with the Victoria Ballet Society in support of her daughter’s early dance education. Holding many influential positions, she worked to create several fundraisers supporting the extended training for the young dancers of Victoria Ballet Theatre; many of these events are still held today. She also dedicated time as a backstage volunteer coordinator for the dance company’s yearly performances of the Nutcracker and many other ballets and was awarded the volunteer of the year award. She also volunteered as Secretary for the Hope Livestock Association Board and served as a Lavaca County election judge.
In addition to being with her family, Mary loved to spend time experiencing nature and had a strong passion for Native American Archeology. She was an artist with a strong talent for writing, painting, drawing and as a musician. She was smart, witty, and always won at game night.
Mary is survived by: her husband Kurt Regenbrecht; her children, Jace Regenbrecht, Hailey & husband Morgan and Wyatt Regenbrecht; her mother Frances Pohl; brothers, James Pohl & wife Sharla and David Pohl & wife Martha; and sister Ruth Ann Pohl.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, James Alvin Pohl.
Mary will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her, she touched the lives of so many during her short journey with us. She will continue to guide us all during our travels forward.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville. Visitation starting at 5 pm Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Aaron Pohl, Brian Mckalip, Brent Raschke, David Wagner, Matthew Moczygemba and Miliano DeHoyos. Honorary Pallbearers: Karl Pohl and Steve Adams. Burial: Salem Cemetery, Ezzell TX.
