Barry William Robinson

March 28, 1961 - May 17, 2024

Barry William Robinson was born in Houston Texas, March 28, 1961, to Ben and Dorothy Prince Robinson. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1979 and attended Texas A&M University. Barry had the entrepreneurial spirit of his father, who inspired him to work as a salesman in many different industries.

He met his wife, Susan (Sue) Jicha, in 1987 at Sherlock’s Baker Street Pub in Houston. They were married on October 17, 1992. They had two daughters, Loren and Rachel Robinson.

From a young age, Barry loved music. He taught himself how to play guitar and eventually, learned to play any song by ear. He wrote music, including the Promised Land, which was written after his mother, Dorothy's, death. He had aspirations of producing his own music and learning to play piano.

Barry loved people. He enjoyed sales where he was able to interact with people of all walks of life. He was always looking forward to starting a conversation with anyone he met, much to the embarrassment of his children. He had many lifelong friends and valued the opinions others held of him.

Barry moved to Dallas, Texas, in 2012 to pursue sobriety and a career as a roofing salesman which he continued until his death on May 17, 2024. He was over 30 years sober from alcohol. He had recently celebrated his 63rd birthday and spent time with his family celebrating his daughter's graduation.

He is survived by his daughters, Loren and Rachel Robinson, ex-wife Susan (Sue) Jicha, brothers Douglas (Doug) Robinson, Donald (Don) Robinson, Robert (Bob) Robinson and wife, Patty Robinson, their daughter Tricia Robinson and her family. He is preceded in death his nephew, Ryan Robinson.

The Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 20 at Tomball Bible Church, 400 N Walnut St., Tomball, TX 77375.
