Chris Campbell '89 March 28, 2025 1:54 PM updated: March 28, 2025 2:05 PM

Chris Warren Campbell

April 10, 1967 - September 26, 2024

Chris Warren Campbell, 57, of Rogers, Arkansas, went to be with Jesus on September 26, 2024, following an unexpected heart attack. After several days of critical care, he moved from this earthly dwelling into the presence of the Lord. He was surrounded by his wife, children, sister, and mother.

The family would like to thank the incredible team at Northwest Medical in Bentonville who not only took care of our beloved Chris, but also took care of us - his grieving family - as we walked through this very difficult trial.

We also want to thank the outpouring of love, presence, and prayer expressed by the Body of Christ as we waited, cried, and hoped for a different outcome. The Saints entered our pain and held us when we didn’t know what to do next. You are the tangible expression - the human touch - of the love of the Father and we are incredibly grateful to call each of you friends.

Chris was born on April 10, 1967, in Houston, Texas. He was the eldest child of Carroll and Terry Campbell. He has one sister, Allison Campbell. Chris graduated from Kingwood High School in 1985, then went on to Texas A&M University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. He was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets. Chris married Cathryn Boring on October 26, 1996, at Colonial Presbyterian Church in Kansas City. After marrying, Chris and Cathy had two children, Chapman and Chaney. When the kids were young, they moved to Rogers, Arkansas. Chris and Cathy were married for 28 years.

Chris was an extrovert of all extroverts. He thrived in a crowd and knew everyone in that crowd by the time he left a room. He enjoyed sports growing up, watching sports as an adult, and cheering on his kids as they participated in sports in their youth. He would brag that he had the best fantasy-football team in any league. But soccer was his quintessential game! He was a rambunctious youth who spent hours riding the bike trails in his community of Kingwood, in Houston, Texas.

He blossomed in college at Texas A&M and survived the Corps of Cadets. He enjoyed his time in Navigators in college and that group of men was instrumental in growing his love for the Word of God and walking in a deeper relationship with Jesus. After college he moved to Denver and finally landed in Dallas where he was involved in Northwest Bible Church. In 1994, Chris traveled to Kansas City to attend his buddy Steve’s wedding. That is where he met Cathy. They began a long-distance relationship that led to a move to KC, marriage and two children. The years in KC were sweet and then a career move brought the family to Northwest Arkansas.

Chris spent many years working in sales, marketing, and in the CPG community. Northwest Arkansas was a wonderful place to thrive, raise a family and find deep friendships. He enjoyed grabbing coffee with friends, going on hikes, taking bike rides, going fishing, hammocking by Beaver Lake, eating street tacos and pupusas, listening to all music genres, playing video games with his son, watching Survivor with his daughter, watching The Chosen with his wife, hanging out at church and talking with anyone who would listen. Above all, he was an incredible listener, quick to apologize, and never held a grudge. He called his mom every Sunday morning before she went to church. He also loved his family that he married into and always looked for an opportunity to make a joke. He was a great friend, devoted father, sweet husband, follower of Jesus, unpretentious and childlike in spirit.

Chris is survived by his wife Cathy Campbell and his children Chapman and Chaney Campbell; his mother Terry Campbell and sister Allison Campbell; his mother-in-law Diane Boring; his sisters-in-law Linda Murrow and Nancy Jackson and his brothers-in-law Matthew Murrow and Mark Jackson; his uncle and aunt Lawrence and Janice Wingate and uncle and aunt Carl and Kathy Meadows; his cousins Sam and Vance Wingate, Jeff and Scott Debruin, Stacy Phillips and Kristi Razor and spouses; his nieces and nephews Summer Bostwick, Solomon, Sam, and Suri Jackson; Casey and Lucy Murrow.
