Norman Valley Ginn, Jr.

November 19, 1951 - March 19, 2025

Norman Valley Ginn, Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on March 19, 2025, in Bryan, Texas, at the age of 73. Born on November 19, 1951, in Sealy, Texas, Norman grew up in a close-knit family, instilling in him a strong sense of values and a warm personality that would touch the lives of many throughout his journey.

Norman achieved his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, a testament to his dedication and hard work. He had a fulfilling career at Dow Chemical, where his expertise and innovative spirit were valued. His professional accomplishments were a significant source of pride, but nothing compared to the joy he found in his family.

In 1981, Norman married the love of his life, Debbie Ginn, in Lake Jackson. Together, they raised their children, Travis and Valerie, and instilled in them the importance of education, hard work ethic, and a sense of humor. He embraced his role as Grandad with enthusiasm, finding his greatest pride in his grandchildren: Nathan McEwin, Elliott McEwin, Tyler Ginn, Blake Ginn, Cameron Jones, Caelyn Jones, and Carson Jones, each bringing unique joy to his heart.

Beyond his professional achievements, Norman was known for his engaging personality. He was a great storyteller with an infectious sense of humor and an unwavering honesty that endeared him to all who knew him. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing, riding motorcycles, piddling around in the garage, making spreadsheets, as well as attending Aggie football games with Debbie.

Norman is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Ginn; his son, Travis Ginn, and daughter-in-law, Brooke; his daughter, Valerie Jones, and son-in-law, Wade; his brother, Julius Ginn, (Squeegie); along with his beloved grandchildren and many other cousins and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Alma Ginn; his sister, Linda Ginn; and his brother, Harold Ginn.

A memorial service will be held on April 5, 2025, at Schmidt Funeral Home in Brookshire, Texas. Friends and family are welcome to join in honoring Norman's remarkable life. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.

Norman Valley Ginn, Jr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and storytelling will continue to inspire generations to come.

Education was very important to Norman; in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a high school, trade school, or college scholarship fund of your choosing.
