Sam Russell Leverett 

May 7, 1955 - March 15, 2025 

Sam Russell Leverett, 69, departed this earthly realm surrounded by loved ones in his home in Wichita Falls, TX on March 15, 2025. Sam was born to the late Homer and Topsy Leverett on May 7, 1955, in Wichita Falls, TX. He is survived and dearly missed by his devoted husband John Kerr; three children Russell Leverett, Matthew Leverett, and Elizabeth Leverett; brother Woody Leverett and sister-in-law Judy Leverett as well as nephews Jack Leverett and Sam Leverett; and two grandchildren Bentley Leverett and Aspen Leverett.

Sam graduated from Texas A&M University in 1977 where he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets and made many lifelong friends. He was taken across the country during his tenure with ConocoPhillips and was especially fond of Alaska and Texas. Sam had an affinity for cars and a knack for filing away the make, model, and year of every one he encountered. The most important thing Sam would want to be remembered for was the happiness and love he imparted upon everybody he encountered. Sam truly was a ray of sunshine in the darkness.

Funeral services will be held at Ainsworth & Young Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, TX on Friday March 21, 2025, at 1pm with a viewing Thursday March 20, 2025, from 5pm-7pm.
