Judith "Judy" Kenworthy '98 April 3, 2025 4:38 PM updated: April 3, 2025 4:42 PM

Judith Harriet "Judy" Kenworthy

November 23, 1971 - March 12, 2025

Judy (Yehudit Galiah) Kenworthy, much-loved daughter, sister & friend, passed away suddenly on March 12, 2025. She was born November 23, 1971 in Titusville, FL. Judy is survived by her mother and father, Katherine & James Kenworthy of Guatemala, and her brother Stacy Kenworthy (Tina Grimes) of Atlanta.

Judy graduated from Texas A&M University with two undergraduate degrees, and from The University of Phoenix with a master’s degree in special education. She worked for the Dekalb County School District for many years and had just joined the staff at a new school that she loved from day one. Judy’s students were an incredible source of joy for her.

She was wholly committed to her faith having converted to Judaism almost 30 years ago. The community and family she experienced with Beth Jacob Congregation was an incredible comfort to Judy as well as to her family. Their kindness and generosity have been beyond all expectations.

Judy leaves behind many much-loved friends, including Reeya, Nava, Jacquelyn & Michele. They were always there to support, encourage, guide, and love her. Judy’s sweet kitty Lev will miss her love, scratches, and warm lap.

There will be a graveside service at 3PM on Sunday, March 16 at Crest Lawn Memorial Park (2000 Marietta Blvd, Atlanta 30318). Family & friends will gather to remember Judy at 5PM at Beth Jacob (1855 LaVista Road, Atlanta 30329).

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Judy’s memory to Beth Jacob Congregation (https://www.bethjacobatlanta.org/payment.php) or the Atlanta Humane Society (https://atlantahumane.org).
