Alett Gwen (Beckwith) Kennedy 

August 31, 1953 - March 12, 2025 

Alett Gwen Beckwith Kennedy was born August 31, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois. After high school, Alett joined the US Navy and served from 1974-1978. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 1980 and immediately went to work as a nursing home administrator. She later earned her master’s degree in social work from UT Arlington and worked for CPS (8 years), East Texas Medical Center as a case manager (22 years), and home health. Her last position as a LCSW was at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she retired in May of 2024. She was very active and enjoyed running, walking, playing with her dogs, and camping. Above all, she enjoyed her time with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

She had been a resident of Bullard for the last five years, formerly living in Tyler and Longview. Alett was a member of Day Springs Methodist Church and loved to read her Bible.

Alett passed away at the age of 71 on March 12, 2025 in Tyler. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Beckwith and mother, Patricia Ann Harvey McKenna.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Steven Kennedy of Bullard; son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Kristi Kennedy of Frankston; daughter and son-in-law, Megan & Jake Flowers of Bullard; two sisters, Ardis Howell and husband, Steve, and Alisa Dunnam; grandchildren, Kennedy Flowers & Kameron Flowers; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
