Roll Call Tribute

Thomas M. "Tom" Ruckman '38, 91, of Karnes City (formerly of DeWitt County) died Oct. 11, 2008. He received both the British and the American Distinguished Flying Cross in 1945 for rescuing downed pilots and crews during World War II. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1969 at the rank of lieutenant colonel and moved to Karnes City and returned to ranching. Survivors include three daughters.
