William "Aylmer" Rainwater '75 June 7, 2010 2:06 PM

(Ruston Daily Leader) (04-09-2010) William Aylmer Rainwater (04-09-2010) Funeral services for William Aylmer Rainwater, 62, of Ruston will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Byargeon, Reverend Dale Oden, and Father Frank Folino officiating. Interment will follow at Pines Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Aylmer, a Ruston native, was born on February 2, 1948, and died April 7, 2010. After completing his Masters Degree in Animal Nutrition at Texas A & M University, Aylmer returned to Ruston to open a rental business with his wife, Virginia. Later he owned and operated Rainwater Irrigation Systems. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with his family. Known for never meeting a stranger, Aylmer also loved to hunt and fish and do woodworking projects, but most of all, he loved his family. Aylmer cherished the time he spent with his three grandsons, and they dearly loved 'Moe.' Aylmer is preceded in death by his father, Harry Lee Rainwater; sister, Sherry Rainwater Stuckey; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Voitier Bass. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Virginia Gillum Rainwater; daughter, Libby Lindsey and husband Lile of Baton Rouge, LA; son, Lee Rainwater and fiancé, Carolyn Slack of Shreveport, LA; grandsons, Lile, Rhodes, and Parks Lindsey of Baton Rouge, LA; mother, Inez Rainwater of Ruston, LA; brother, Mike Rainwater of Ruston, LA; brother-in-laws, George Gillum and wife Pat of Ruston, LA; Billy Gillum and wife Denise of Kilgore, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family; and a host of dear friends. Memorials may be made to the Gratitude House of Alcoholics Anonymous, 1501 White Street, Ruston, LA 71270. Pallbearers will be Donald Colvin, Sonny Cook, Butch Hightower, John Kirby, Jim Mitchell, and Johnny Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. W. C. Ellis, Tommy Ledford, Sr., and Todd Tatum.
