Thomas L. 'Tommy' Janik '63, 69, of Poth died Nov. 21, 2009. He played defense and punted for a year at Texas A&M before transferring to Texas A&I. He began his professional football career as a safety and punter with the Denver Broncos, was the Buffalo Bills' back-up punter for four years, then joined the New England Patriots. He was an American Football League All-Star in 1965 and 1967. He retired from professional football in 1970 and owned Shipley's Donuts in Bryan from 1970 to 1981. Survivors include a son, a brother, and two sisters.
