Editing your information
Information in your profile is categorized into sections.
Each section of information will have an "edit" link so you can add, edit, or delete information for that section.
Please do not "blank out" fields you do not want shown. Use the Privacy settings to control who can see your information.
The Biographic Info section has a field where you can write comments to our Records department. This allows you to add important details about significant changes on your profile, such as if you legally changed your name or need to change your Class year.
Controlling your Privacy
This link shows you who can view the information in that particular section.
The three values of that link are:
- Public: The information is viewable to anyone, including non-logged-in users. The only way a non-logged-in user could view your profile is if you shared the link to your profile (the URL you see when viewing your own profile).
- Aggies: The information is viewable only to Aggies who are logged into the site. Aggies can find your profile by using the "Find an Aggie" tool.
- Hidden: The information isn't displayed to end users.
Any privacy link will take you to the page where you can set privacy for your profile.
Email Privacy: Your email will never be shown to end users. When the privacy setting for your email address is set to "Aggies," Aggies can email you through the site. When it is set to "Hidden," Aggies cannot email you through the site. There is no "public" option for email.
How does your profile appear to Aggies?
At the top of your profile, you have some links that let you preview how your profile looks to other Aggies.
View your profile how Aggies see it shows you what Aggies see when they look you up using the "Find an Aggie" tool. Note that your email address is not shown to end users. It is a link that allows them to email you through the site. This protects your email address.
View your public profile shows you how non-logged-in users would see your profile. The only way a non-logged-in user could view your profile is if you shared the link to your profile (the URL you see when viewing your own profile).
View your full profile takes you back to the screen where you can see your entire Aggie Profile.
These links are only available to you. They will not show up when other people view your profile.
