John David Boothe
Saturday, May 9th, 1964 - Thursday, February 24th, 2022

John David Boothe, 57, of Gonzales, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022. John was born May 9, 1964, in Gonzales, the youngest of three children born to James Lee Boothe and Georgia Mae “Jo” Wroblsky. John was a member of the Gonzales First United Methodist Church.

John grew up working the family poultry and cattle farm and loved playing drums in the band, graduating from Gonzales Highschool in 1982. He then graduated with honors from Texas A&M University with a BS in Poultry Science while working the farm. He scheduled production at BYK USA (formerly Southern Clay Products) for many years while continuing with his love of music, playing drums in the praise band at the First United Methodist Church and in small-town country gigs. He was a paid firefighter for two years and continued as a volunteer for the next fifteen years. John also volunteered numerous years for the Come and Take It Festival, the Gonzales Summer Concert Series, and other events.

John David Boothe is survived by his two sons, LCpl Paden William Boothe USMC, Okinawa, Japan, and Sawyer James Boothe of Austin, brother-in-law, Paul Pettijohn of Gonzales and former wife and mother of his children, Anne Boothe, as well as several other extended family members and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cindy Pettijohn '78, and brother, James Lee Boothe, Jr. '83

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, March 3, 2022, in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, March 4, 2022, in the Gonzales First United Methodist Church with Dr. Matt Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in the Gonzales Hermann Sons Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Eric Pettijohn, Richard Thiele, Morgan Barry Boothe, Jr, Billy Boothe, Morgan Barry Boothe, Sr, Paul Pettijohn, Blake Boothe, and Trace Boothe.

Memorials may be made to the Gonzales First United Methodist Church.
