Marcos Rosales ’05

Marcos, who grew up in Mission, Texas, graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M in 2005 with a degree in chemical engineering. In 2010, he earned a Master of Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as a J.D. from Stanford Law School. An engineer by training and former general counsel of an expansive multi-industry business enterprise, Marcos has considerable business and litigation experience and extensive knowledge of a range of businesses and industries including banking, oil and gas, private equity, real estate, construction, insurance, and more. He is a partner at Beck Redden LLP, a trial and appellate law firm in Houston. Marcos’s practice combines all aspects of commercial litigation, representing public and private companies as well as individuals in the full range of business disputes, fiduciary litigation, energy litigation, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, and catastrophic personal injury litigation. He has tried more than a dozen cases to verdict and has handled all aspects of pre-trial, trial, and post-judgment litigation as lead counsel. Marcos has been recognized as a Texas “Rising Star” in Civil Litigation in 2020, 2022, and 2023, and he has been named in The Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch” since 2021. Most recently, Marcos was recognized in the inaugural publication of Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation as one of the lawyers “who will define where the legal profession of our country goes” and “[w]hose leadership will be called upon by businesses and individuals when they face their crossroads.” Marcos serves on the District Advisory Committee for the Houston Independent School District and the Houston Urban Debate League board of directors. In addition, he serves The Association of Former Students as representative at large. In recognition of his exceptional achievements and exemplary leadership in both business and service, Marcos was honored with The Association's 12 Under 12 Young Alumni Spotlight Award in 2018. Marcos and his wife Kelley are Endowed Century Club members and have two children: Samuel and Clara Lucille.
